This contemporary icon was inspired by the original painting of Virgin the Eternal Bloom. The symbol by Mary's halo on the left stands for "Mother" while the one on the right (Greek symbol Theou) means God. The symbols on Jesus halo stand for "I am that I am, the one who lives". The beautiful foil embellished Orthodox icon is set into a hand crafted wooden frame. The frame was inspired by the old style countryside window frames of izba (traditional Russian log cabin). The villagers used the same style of wood carving to decorate the household icons that were normally located in the top left corner of the house. Quantities are very limited.
Materials: lime wood, stain, foil embellished icon.
