This beautiful broach is handmade out of paper-mache and hand painted in the village of Zhostovo. Since the late 19th century, the authentic production of lacquer brooches has taken place in old village widely known for its beautiful artwork on the metal trays. Local painters used their old secrets for new art. Today, painters' work is based on the best samples of old miniature art which is exhibited in the museums in the Orthodox Church. Slight variation of colors and shapes is possible since this is a handmade item.
