This stunning miniature lacquer box was hand painted in Palekh style. It features Ivan catching a magic Firebird that was pecking grains from his father's field. The scene is based on the Russian folk tale of "the Humpbacked Pony" or "Konyok -Gorbunok" in Russian. The box is initialed by an artist.
