 "Fedoskino" is the modern name for the Old Russian town of Danilkovo, in the Moscow Oblast, located about 20 miles due North from Moscow. For over 300 years master artisans have continuously made lacquer boxes in this small Russian town. Over this time, generations of artists, artisans, art guilds, master craftsmen and universities perfected the Fedoskino style lacquer box. These lacquer boxes have earned worldwide recognition for their high level of workmanship, detailed painting, realism, and precision miniature and fine painting.  This box is a true masterpiece that is 100% authentic and was hand painted in Russia. Artist: Smirnova M.
